FAQ's

Q: Does it work just as well as the clay bar?
A: A different process. Clay bars physically pull the contaminant out where Liquid Clay uses reverse oxidation technology to soften the bond the iron fallout has on the clear coat. After spraying you can agitate with a mitt if you want to, which breaks the bond quicker.

Q: Is it a good idea to use the bar and then the liquid afterwards for best results?
A: Not really, as you wouldn't need to do both. Bar twice a year maybe and liquid clay between will be fine. If you use Liquid Clay often and keep on top of the fallout then it would take the need for clay bars away.

Q: Does it only come in 5L? 
A: No, we downsize to 1 liter spray bottles for you. Search for 1 Litre Liquid Clay Spray. However, this stuff is addictive and it is cheaper to purchase 5 litres and re-use the spray bottle!

Q: Has there been a comparison done with a normal clay bar?
A: Clay bars will always have a place in the market however they are a time consuming process. Physically pulling the contaminant out vs reverse oxidising the iron particle away from the panel is a much quicker process and more likely to be used during a detail. The other benefit to this is that it can be used as a visual guide to how bad the car really is as the colour changing technology shows the iron fallout, something the naked eye can't see.

Iron Fallout 

City conditions also produce a lot of iron fallout that can find its way onto your car. Airports, (flight paths), construction, railways and industrial parks all produce copious amounts of iron fallout. Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Iron Bonding / Rust 

What makes the iron bond to surfaces so effectively? As the iron particles fall onto the surface they also have oxygen particles attracted to them from the atmosphere. This Iron and Oxygen combination is Iron Oxide or more commonly known as rust. In layman’s terms the iron particle is rusting to your paintwork or steel framework.

Red Dust Staining
